This organization was founded in 1967 by parents and players of both the Mad River Township and Riverside Township communities. The community had a great understanding of the need that children had for youth sports. In January of 2005 the Tomahawk Board voted in the name and the mascot changed to the Indians. It is our pleasure to be called the Mad River Indians. Currently the Indians organization has over 200 children per year participating. These children make up five tackle football teams and five cheerleading squads. Each football team consists of 25 athletes. The cheerleading squads are made up of 20 members. The Indians season starts in late July and can run into late November. Each team plays eight regular season football games, and a tournament, located at the Mad River Community Park. For information on registration or to receive additional information about this program, visit mr-indians.com or contact Jim Hatton, President, at 626-0309 or e-mail jhatton@oh.rr.com.
